Sunday Message: God Is Bigger Than Your Problem

In this Sunday morning message, Pastor Greg Laurie shows how God’s offer of abundant life far outmatches any offer the devil might make to us. From Mark 5, we’ll learn how everything changes for those who encounter the Lord Jesus.

This is the latest message in a powerful series called The Gospel for Busy People.

“Hell is the highest reward the devil can offer you for being a servant of his.” —Billy Sunday

Three forces are at work: Satan, Society, and the Savior. (Chaos, Culture, Christ.)

Read: Mark 4:35–41

You learn things in storms that you would not necessarily learn elsewhere.

In this storm, Satan was trying to stop Jesus, but he failed!

Read: Mark 5:1–8

Demons, though wicked, are quite orthodox in some of their beliefs.

“The demons believe and tremble” (James 2:19).

“Have you come here to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29).

“He knows he has but a short time” (Revelation 12:12).

“The choice before us is plain: Christ or chaos; conviction or compromise; discipline or disintegration.” —Peter Marshall

What the chains could not do, Jesus did with one word!

Read: Mark 5:15–17

There are three prayers in this story:

  1. The demons’ prayer.
  2. The peoples’ prayer.
  3. The formerly demon-possessed man’s prayer.

No one is beyond the reach of God, so keep praying for them.
