Yom Kippur (“Day of Atonement”) is the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. It is a time to repent of your sins and be assured of forgiveness through the atoning sacrifice of a lamb’s blood. The equivalent of this holiday in the Christian world is Good Friday. It’s a day where we stop to reflect on the sacrifice of the perfect lamb, Jesus Christ. In taking on the punishment for our sins, Jesus seals the promise of atonement, the promise of forgiveness and restored relationship with God.
