Scratch Plow: Fit for God’s Kingdom | The Holy Land

Jesus calls us to be intentional about advancing God’s kingdom. There are so many distractions in our lives that it really does take daily effort to focus on things that are eternally important. Jack Beck provides a great visual demonstration of an ancient piece of farming equipment—a scratch plow—to illustrate how easy it is to lose our focus. Luke 9:62 quotes Jesus: “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” His message for us is to focus our time, attention, and energy on what truly matters.
