Help for Mental Trauma – Dr. Karl Benzio

Help for mental trauma is available to those who are suffering from it. Dr. Karl Benzio, a psychiatrist and member of Focus on the Family’s Physicians Resource Council says sometimes people are afraid to seek out a psychologist or psychiatrist to talk about mental trauma they may have experienced.

He says sometimes Christians might even think it’s sinful to acknowledge that they may be experiencing mental trauma. But Dr. Benzio explains that there are often scientific reasons that cause mental anguish.

For parents who may be experiencing mental trauma, or who may be wondering whether their child has had traumatic experiences, he explains why they shouldn’t be afraid to reach out to a Christian counselor and seek the help they need.
