Justice and mercy are popular topics in society today, yet they have always been important to God. As a pastor who grew up in the Black church and now serves in a predominately White church, Marvin Williams understands the tensions that can arise when people step out of their comfort zones. He also experiences firsthand the beauty of reconciliation and forgiveness when people honestly choose to love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. Marvin shares that the people in his church “have seen God change people’s hearts as it relates to culture and ethnicity and diversity.”
Marvin Williams is an associate Bible teacher for Our Daily Bread Ministries and a contributing writer for the Our Daily Bread devotional. He is also the senior teaching pastor of Trinity Church in Lansing, Michigan. Educated at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, he previously served in several pastoral positions in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He and his wife, Tonia, have three children.
